K3K Benta Kaya (桂三记)

Passed by the place for so many times and today decided to drop by there and see what they have.

As usual they have all the toasts (afterall its famous with their kaya), and quite a variety of drinks..Other than light food, you can also grab your proper meal here too!

I ordered this. They named it as 2 in 1..6 small slices on a plate (RM3).

This taste really good for me =)

For their drink, i just ordered teh panas..Weather is too cold to order cold drinks lol..But i heard they are famous for some food and drinks like their Roti Jala and coffee.. Next time should try it out.

I think overall price was still reasonable for a cafe like this..

They have indoor and outdoor seatings. Smokers, still welcomed. 🙂 Its a great place to chill out with your friends if you run out of ideas where to go lol..

Wifi is available.

You can visit their Facebook page or website for more info. They have a few other outlets too! Check them out.

San Nae Deul Korean Bbq

I’m a Korean food lover! But even so, i hardly visit to Korean restaurant..Finally my craving has been fixed after soooooo long..

This time is San Nae Deul @ Oasis Ara Damansara! Its located at the upstairs. =)

photo 1

We were in their VIP room as we have 13 of us here. Nom nom!!!

Ahh..Drooling by just looking at them. My kimchi, lettuce! lol

YUMMZZZ.

Ok, no more photo after i start eating haha..As usual, korean food never fail to disappoint me.

I loveeee their kimchi! Somehow i actually prefer the kimchi here to Daorae Korean BBQ. The rest i would say almost the same..Their soup also taste great, still able to taste the seafood essence. Food wise, im really happy with it!

As for their service, i personally think they should get one more person to serve us. The waiter serving us is already quick enough, but still too busy to cope with 13 of us..From start until finish eating, he’s serving us NON STOP.. But still, at least he still manage to serve all of us. *thumbs up*

We are dining in the room, i feel the ventilation was pretty bad. At Daorae, there’s something like this, so you don’t actually feel the whole place is stuffy.

But here its just the normal ventilation system, imagine 3 grilling spots were active at the same time in the small room..We even have to sacrifice the air-conditioning and open their windows to get rid of the stuffy air..It feels warmer but at least we feel better lol. When the grilling is done, then only we close back their window..

Yeap, i guess thats all? Oh ya.. Price..If im not wrong, its RM347..RM347 for 13 of us, i think its still quite cheap for a korean bbq..If you are looking for a good korean food, i guess this is the right place for you!

I think they have other branches at Puchong and Mont Kiara too.

I’m Spicy

I’m Spicy is actually a thai food restaurant

When you go for lunch, the actually have lunch set that provides a few choices of food and come with a drink. The set is RM12 and RM1 additional to change your drink to House Drink. Yap, House Drink is actually their lemongrass drink.

So in their set lunch, they have patthai, tomyam noodle, tomyam rice, basil fried rice, green curry chicken etc. And i ordered their “tom yam gai”. Its actually tomyam soup with stewed chicken in it. And it comes with a rice as well. If you wan noodle, its “tom yam moo”.

Hmm. Not bad though and its getting more and more spicy after you drink it. But it will be damn awesome if there’s seafood inside lol.

Seriously, the RM1 worth for your money! I just love this!

Ok, for the food, i wouldn’t say its VERYYY nice, but maybe just enough to fix your Thai food craving. It actually serves in a quite small portion too.. Even some of my girl friends feel its a lil bit small for them. Because of the portion, i think its slightly too pricey for me. With GST, total up its like almost RM15/pax.

Service wise, my friend that ordered patthai had their food served quite fast. For the tomyam one, it actually takes around 30 mins to serve if im not wrong after all my friends have finish eating. As for environment, i kinda like that place. Comfy looking interior with great air conditioning, especially good for people like me that had their Tom yam..:)

Garage 51 @ Bandar Sunway

As you guys know, recently i did reviews of a few coffee places that i have been to.

There’re a lot of great coffee around KL and if you are a coffee-lover, you definitely heard of Coffee Societe.

Now they branch out to another name, its called Garage 51! Its still Coffee Societe and now it located at Sunway! Good for me, a person who stay near to Sunway. =)

At least i don have to go all the way to Publika to get a good coffee. Of course there’re a  lot of great coffee around me too =)

So this is Garage 51! From the name, until the look from outside, you already can relate them with the term garage! And i love the graffiti.

And this is one of their “deco” outside the shop =)

You can even grab your seats on this industrial looking chair.

The interior..

Their menu. In fact they have more in the other pages. They are not only selling coffee. But you can have other drinks too! And its fine if you come with an empty stomach, they have a variety of food to serve on you as well!

Lets talk about coffee

My friend ordered Cappuccino. (RM8.90) Definitely cheaper then other places out there.

Im not sure how’s the coffee though. Time to try it next time. And gonna request a more interesting coffee art from them lol

and i ordered this. Nutella latte! (RM12)

Its their new product i guess as i just saw them posted it on their Facebook page weeks ago..Hmm. I’m a chocolate lover and how can i miss Nutella right..For me i think it just tastes awesome! But it would be slightly better if the coffee taste can be even stronger. Now the nutella seems to cover away their coffee.

But overall i really love this place. Great environment. Compared to other places, at least you don’t feel its too noisy, flies flying around you, bad air conditioning etc. For smokers, no worries! There’re outdoors space for you too. Free Wifi is provided as well.

For service wise, big thumbs up!

The moment you stepped into the place, their friendly staff welcomed you with their great smile =) and once you are seated down, plain water was served to you IMMEDIATELY. Of course, they opened the door for us and send us out when we are leaving too..

Good experience for the first time. Definitely gonna visit there back again SOON! 🙂

Its just located at the industrial area, the shop lots facing Sunway University entrance! Address at the bottom.

Movie Review : Insidious 2

In 1986, a medium named Carl calls upon his friend Elise to help discover what is haunting Lorraine Lambert’s son, Josh. After hypnotizing Josh, Elise attempts to find the location of Josh’s “friend” (an old woman who appears in photographs of Josh) through playing Hot or Cold. After warnings from Josh, Elise makes her way to his bedroom closet and is scratched along the arm. As a result, Lorraine, Carl, and Elise agree that making Josh forget his astral projection abilities is the best thing to do.

Twenty-five years later, Josh’s wife Renai is under questioning by a police detective about the death of Elise. Unsettled by the theory that her husband is a killer, Renai rejoins with her family as they relocate to Lorraine’s house. As everyone goes to bed, Renai begins witnessing strange occurrences throughout the house. Josh, who is suspected by Renai to be inhabited by the old woman, tells her not to worry and that everything will be okay.

The next day, Renai sees a woman wearing a white dress sitting in the living room. Following the cries of her baby throughout the house, Renai comes face-to-face with the woman in white and is knocked unconscious. During this time, Lorraine visits Elise’s colleagues Specks and Tucker to seek an explanation behind the strange events. In doing so, they call upon Carl, who listens to Lorraine’s story and attempts to contact Elise on the other side using word-dice. Through the dice, they are told to find answers at the “Our Lady of Angels” hospital (the former workplace of Lorraine). Led through the hospital to the ICU, Lorraine recounts a story of a patient named Parker Crane, who committed suicide by jumping off the roof many years ago. The four decide that Elise is leading them to this man’s house. After breaking into Parker’s home, they find a black gown and veil as well as newspaper clippings about a man referred to as “The Dark Bride” who kidnapped and murdered several people while dressed as a woman. It is then revealed to them that it was not Elise speaking through the dice, but actually Parker’s mother.

After Renai recovers with Josh at her side, Lorraine arrives home and insists that she, Renai, and the kids get away from Josh. In the car, she explains the origin of “The Dark Bride” and the theory that the real Josh is trapped in the Further. At this same moment, Carl arrives at the house to drug the possessed Josh while Specks and Tucker monitor from their van parked outside. The plan fails, however, and Josh incapacitates Carl, Specks and Tucker. After receiving a message saying everything is okay, Lorraine and Renai return to the house only to be ambushed by Josh. Locking Lorraine in the closet, Josh attempts to choke Renai but is knocked over the head with a bat by Dalton, who has returned home with Foster. Renai and the children then escape to the basement where they barricade themselves in the laundry room. Lying down in a corner with a tin can telephone, Dalton falls asleep and returns to the Further to rescue his father. Simultaneously, Josh begins making his way into the room by hammering through the drywall.

Meanwhile, in the Further, the real Josh stumbles upon Carl and the two look for Elise, finding her at the Lambert’s previous home. The three then proceed to Parker’s house where they witness his mother, the woman in white, abusing him as a child in attempt to convince him that he’s a girl. The mother notices the group observing and locks Carl and Elise out of the room. When Josh turns around, the room is dark and filled with standing bodies covered by sheets. Upon finding Parker’s mother amongst the bodies, the two engage in a fight. Just as the mother is about to choke Josh to death, Elise enters the room with the help of young Parker and saves Josh by hitting the mother from behind with a rocking horse. After the three escape the house, they are met up by Dalton who assists Carl and Josh in returning to real time by following the string from the tin can telephone.

Josh, who collapsed in real time after Parker’s mother was hit by the rocking horse, and Dalton wake up as themselves, a feeling of relief encompasses the room. Carl then hypnotizes Dalton and Josh to forget their astral projection abilities and everything that happened with it. The screen fades to white and Specks and Tucker are shown knocking on the door to another home. As they speak with the parents of the house about their daughter Allison, Elise walks in to speak to a comatose Allison. A creaking noise and shadow rises behind the girl just as Elise shockingly exclaims, “Oh my God”.

FINALLY! Been anticipated for this for so long after The Conjuring and get to watch with my buddies for the MIDNIGHT SHOW! AWESOME!

Again, its directed by James Wan, famous for all his directed horror movie like SAW, The Conjuring etc.

For Insidious 2, i find some quite similar parts with Conjuring. Like the house environment, their cinematography etc. But the story is kinda different though. The movie is around 1 hour 40 mins. Not too short or too long.

I would say everything is just fine. Just that compared to The Conjuring, I still find The Conjuring is slightly better with some more intense scenes. But again, if you are a fan of horror movie/ James Wan or you have watched part 1, it worth for your time for part 2 as well because Part 2 is better than part 1 IMO.

Movie Review : Gravity

Bio-medical engineer Dr. Ryan Stone is a Mission Specialist on her first space shuttle mission, STS-157, accompanied by veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski, who is commanding his final expedition. During the final spacewalk to service the Hubble Space Telescope,Mission Control in Houston warns the team that debris from a Russian missile strike on a defunct satellite has caused a chain reaction of destruction and that they must abort the mission. Shortly afterward, communications from Mission Control are lost, though Stone and Kowalski continue to transmit in hopes that the ground crew can hear them.

High-speed debris kills engineer Shariff and damages the space shuttle Explorer, sending Stone far away from it. Kowalski, who is wearing a thruster pack, navigates to Stone and retrieves her. Tethered together, the two make their way back to Explorer, where they discover it has been damaged far beyond usability, and the rest of the crew are dead. They decide to use the thruster pack to make their way to the International Space Station (ISS), which is in orbit only about 100 km (60 mi) away. Kowalski estimates they have 90 minutes before the debris field completes an orbit and threatens them again.

During the route to the ISS, the two discuss Stone’s life back home and the death of her young daughter in a schoolyard accident. As they approach the slightly damaged ISS, they see that its crew has evacuated in one of the Soyuz modules and that the other’s parachute has been accidentally deployed, making it useless for return to Earth. But Kowalski says that the Soyuz can still be used to travel to the nearbyChinese space stationTiangong to retrieve another module that can take them to Earth. Out of air and maneuvering power, the two try to grab onto the ISS as they fly by. At the last moment, Stone’s leg becomes entangled in the Soyuz’s parachute cords, but Kowalski realizes that his momentum will carry them both away; over Stone’s protests, he detaches himself from the tether so that Stone might survive, and the tension in the cords pulls her back towards the ISS. As Kowalski floats away, he radios additional instructions and encouragement to Stone.

Stone enters the ISS via an airlock but must hastily make her way to the Soyuz to escape a fire. Stone realizes the Soyuz’s parachute cables are still tangled with the ISS. She spacewalks outside to release the cables, barely succeeding just as the debris field completes its orbit and destroys the station. Stone aligns the Soyuz with Tiangong, but discovers the craft’s thrusters have no fuel. Stone resigns herself to being stranded and begins decompression of the cabin to commit suicide by painless hypoxia. As she begins to lose consciousness, Stone has a hallucination in which Kowalski appears outside, enters the capsule, and tells her to use the Soyuz’s landing rockets. Newly motivated to live, Stone restores the flow of oxygen and uses the rockets to navigate towards Tiangong.

Unable to dock the Soyuz with the station, Stone ejects herself via explosive decompression and uses a fire extinguisher as a makeshift thruster to travel to Tiangong. She enters the Shenzhou capsule just as Tiangong starts to break up on the upper edge of the atmosphere, having been knocked from orbit by debris. As the capsule descends to Earth, Stone hears Mission Control over the radio tracking the capsule. The capsule lands in a lake, forcing Stone to shed her spacesuit underwater in order to swim to shore. She takes her first shaky steps on land, in the full gravity of Earth.

Get myself to watch Gravity just now! I rarely watch movies in 3D but i know IT IS A MUST to watch Gravity in 3D.

From the trailer, it might seems bored. But in fact if you are someone that loves outer space a lot like me, you MUST watch this! Story wise is really really simple..Basically its just about two astronauts struggling at the outer space and trying to survive from all the obstacles they met. And there’re only two casts (one dead at the half of the movie).

But what i think that is highlighted in this movie is the effect they had. Watch this in 3D and you will feel you actually being “blown” away to the outer space. Everything is so detailed and realistic. The visual experience is just so different from other 3D movies that you have watched. I also love the overall arrangement of their sfx. Nicely done.

Again, don’t come for story or the casts. Come for the experience that you are going to have.

Sun May Hiong Pork Satay

Me as a Malaccan, hardly blog anything about Melaka food even though there’re tonnes of good food around!

But i guess slowly Im going to update some. =) Just search “Melaka” in the search bar in the future, im sure you can find some soon.

However, i’m only back to Melaka like once/twice in a month, and i don’t bring my DSLR along. All these are just taken using my iPhone 4..

Well i guess the places are more important rather than how good the photo can be right lol.

I guess Satay is also one of the must-eat food when you having your vacation at Melaka.

Yeah, this is the pork satay!

This place is quite famous among the other satay stalls, and u can see a lot of tourists visited there even though its located in a quite hidden place if you are not from Melaka.

Yeah other than pork satay, they have chicken as well. and also pig intestines.

What i like about the satay is the meat is still quite juicy despite the grilling time..and basically you no need to order how many sticks you want, because once you sit down, they will deliver you around 10+ sticks. Once you finish, they will keep delivering until you ask for a stop.

Good strategy eh, because its really nice and people always lost count on how many sticks they have eaten lol. So they are encouraging a non-stop-eating habit on you hahaa.

Price wise, RM0.70 for each stick. I guess its still reasonable though.

Unlike KL, Melaka don’t have much variety on dessert shop. and i have been to 2-3..But they don really fancy me much. lol

So yeah, there’s this dessert shop called F CUP DESSERT who has just opened a branch in Bukit Cina. To those who are familar with Melaka, its just located beside the most famous Capitol Satay Celup @ Bukit Cina.  To those who are not familiar, you can just tell the taxi driver/ trishaw man/ search on GPS “BUKIT CINA”. =)

After you had your satay celup, you can just drop by the dessert shop beside! lol

Passion snow ice.

Durian snow ice (RM9.90) . I’m a durian lover and i can hardly get any durian ice in town..somehow this remind of Tong Pak Fu as well and i like it =)

They have quite a lot of variety of desserts and their price range was around RM6.90 – RM10++.. depends on the type and size you ordered.

They also provide 6 different portion for their dessert, from A Cup, B Cup to F Cup..Lol sounds awkward right i know.

Well, i think its worth giving it a try if you love fruits desserts.

Movie Review : Prisoners

On November 22, 2012, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), a deeply religious man who runs a failing carpentry business, attends a Thanksgiving dinner with his family at the house of neighbor and family friends the Birches. The families’ six year old daughters, Anna Dover and Joy Birch, go for a walk outside with their older siblings, Ralph Dover and Eliza Birch. The children have to be forcefully pulled away from a parked RV by their siblings when they start climbing on it. After dinner, the younger daughters leave to go back to Anna’s house to get her safety whistle she is supposed to carry at all times, but they never come back. After a police hunt, the RV is found parked outside a gas station next to a wooded area. When Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal), who heads the case, goes to confront the RV’s driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), Alex panics, tries to speed away, and crashes into the trees.

Alex is taken in for questioning, but it is found that he has the IQ of a 10-year-old and rarely speaks. No forensic evidence is found in the RV and Alex’s low intelligence means he couldn’t have covered up such evidence. Also, polygraph tests of him prove inconclusive due to his low IQ, and he repeatedly denies ever having seen the children. Detective Loki goes to see Alex’s aunt, Holly Jones (Melissa Leo), who raised him with his uncle after his parents died when he was six. Alex’s uncle left the home a couple years ago after a domestic dispute with his aunt. Alex spends most nights sleeping in the RV and does not have many things. As the police are unable to find evidence against Alex, he is released in two days. Keller attacks him in a parking lot where he says Alex tells him, “They only cried when I left them.” Though no one is close enough to hear this to corroborate, Keller takes this as proof that Alex took the girls.

That night, Keller abducts Alex at gunpoint while walking his dog, and imprisons him in an abandoned, run-down apartment building that his father owned. With the reluctant help of Joy’s father, Franklin Birch (Terrence Howard), Keller repeatedly beats Alex for days for information. Overcome with guilt, Franklin tells his wife Nancy (Viola Davis) what they have done and brings her to see Alex. While talking to him, she unties Alex and he attempts to escape. This forces Keller to build a wall around a bath tub, where he locks Alex. It is devoid of light except for a small PVC tube talk-hole, and Keller is able to torture Alex with both scalding and freezing water. At this point, the Birches decide they cannot participate any longer, but they do not stop Keller. Detective Loki begins tailing Keller after hearing that Alex went missing, and eventually finds the apartment complex, though he does not discover Alex.

Over the days Alex is being tortured, Detective Loki trails other leads. While investigating sex offenders in the area, he discovers that Father Patrick Dunn has a long-dead body in his basement. Father Dunn claims that he did not know who the man was, but that in a confession the man bragged about killing sixteen children and also admitted to having a family dispute. The reverend confesses that he convinced the man to come to his house, where he killed him to “save the children”, and is arrested for the crime. During a candlelight vigil for the missing girls, Detective Loki notices a man acting suspicious, but loses him in a chase. Subsequent scenes show the man breaking into the Dover and Birch homes, though it is not revealed what he did there. Keller’s wife hears the window open when the man breaks in, but never sees him, and believes Anna had come back. Detective Loki writes down her statement of someone coming in through the window. After a sketch of the man appears on the news, a department store clerk recognizes him and states that he comes in from time to time to examine children’s mannequins and buy children’s clothing. The man is revealed to be Bob Taylor when the clerk gives Loki the man’s license plate to track him down. Loki confronts Taylor at his home and finds that the walls are covered in drawings of intricate mazes. In a back room, locked crates filled with maze books, venomous snakes, and bloody children’s clothing are discovered. Both the Dovers and Birches identify clothing belonging to their children from the crates, and Taylor confesses to killing them. Keller begins to regret his actions towards Alex, but still believes Alex may know where the bodies are. Alex mentions a clue about finding them in a maze. Keller goes to the Jones home to “apologize” to Holly for attacking Alex at the police station, but in reality, he is there to judge her reaction after he mentions he’s having dreams of Anna in a maze.

Believing there’s a small chance the children might still be alive, Loki beats Taylor during questioning, but Taylor manages to grab one of the officers’ gun from his belt and commits suicide. The blood on the children’s clothes is later found to be pig’s blood, and after looking back at Keller’s wife’s statement about the window, Loki realizes that Taylor had stolen clothing from the girls’ rooms. Taylor is revealed to be a fake killer copying a book titled “Finding the Invisible Man” which prominently features mazes, especially a circular maze (seen in the “O” in the “Prisoners” logo) which Taylor was drawing while in custody. Days later, Joy Birch is found drugged and is hospitalized, but Anna is still missing. In her drugged state, Joy rambles that Keller was there, giving the audience the impression that Keller is somehow in on it. Keller rushes off as Loki chases him. Loki loses him, but heads toward the apartment complex and discovers the imprisoned Alex.

Keller goes to Holly’s, realizing that is where Joy had heard him. Holly holds him at gunpoint and forces him to consume the same sedative used to drug Anna and Joy. She reveals that she and her husband had been religious people, like Keller, until their son died of cancer at a young age. They decided to spite God by making children disappear without a trace to turn their parents into demons, as evidenced by what Keller had become. Alex was the first child they abducted and they raised him as their own son. Holly and her husband continued to kill until he ran from home one day. From that point on, she basically stopped as she needed his assistance. However, when Alex gave Anna and Joy a ride for their amusement, she found her chance to do so again, and that made Keller realize that Alex never harmed the girls. Holly dumps Keller (now handcuffed) in a pit hidden under a functional car made to appear broken. This pit is where she had made all the kidnapped children “disappear”. However, she mentions having moved Anna and Joy into the house when the police started looking around, which is what allowed Joy to eventually escape. In the pit, Keller finds his daughter’s whistle, and begins to attempt to repent for the demon he had become.

Loki goes to Holly’s house to tell her about Alex being found. He enters when she does not respond, and realizes that her husband was the dead man in Father Dunn’s basement when he sees a picture of him wearing the same necklace as the dead man. He confronts Holly as she injects Anna with cyanide. The two shoot each other; Loki is wounded, but Holly is killed. He rushes Anna to the hospital and she is saved. Days later, it is revealed that Keller is still missing, and is assumed to be on the run to avoid prison time for his crimes to Alex. Loki promises his wife he’ll find him. When searching through the newspaper, it is revealed that Alex is actually the boy who was kidnapped from the mother Loki visited earlier in the film. Loki is later shown with a team excavating Holly’s yard for remains, but the cold weather dramatically slows the search. After the team leaves, Loki is left alone, seemingly pondering Keller’s whereabouts. He hears a faint whistle, but believes it to be his imagination. However, the whistle keeps blowing and Loki turns around to investigate.

Prisoners, basically i didnt watch any trailer, not knowing any clue  whats the story all about. I thoughts its a crime film like prison break, escaping from prison. But i was wrong. Just wrong. There’s nothing to do with prisons/ prisoners.

Lets talk about the story. For me its a very good concept based story and requires you to think a little bit. And also there’s also some twist at the story. But the whole movie is 2.5 hours long. YES, 2.5 hours! It’s so freaking long. And i guess this movie actually going to make a lot of audiences freeze in the cinema. Uhh, the story isnt complicated, but they did a very draggy flow and no offense, i think due to the drag, it makes the whole story pretty flat, without any climax. If you asked when is the climax, i can’t give you an exact answer. Worse is, this movie doesn’t has much exciting sound effect to hype audience up..Since this is a “thriller” film, people are expecting a more exciting and nervous atmosphere. But i would say it fails to do so for a “thriller”, as it doesnt thrill people at all in term of actions and sound effect, well, thats for me.

But definitely Hugh Jackman did a really good job. I totally feel his pain for being a father that lost his kid. And seeing how his character slowly turning into “demon” because of his daughter. Really good.. I would think he saves the movie a lot! Basically casts are quite good. Just one thing, i think the “grandmother” aka Alex’s auntie, can be even scarier or creepy. When Keller was at her house, she finally showed her evil side by pointing a gun to Keller from back. By right, it should be something shocking, making everyone goes “OH NO, SHE’S AT THE BACK!!!” But again, never get to make everyone thrilled.

Well, but i think this is still a good movie, aside being a little toooo draggy. It will be cool if some unnecessary part can be removed to make it into a 100 minutes movie (originally 153 minutes). Plus if you are a Hugh Jackman fan, show your support! haha.

Pacific Coffee @ Oasis Square

As you guys know, recently i did reviews of a few coffee places that i have been too.

This time i decided to give a try to this place, Pacific Coffee.. If im not wrong, this place just opened not long ago.

The interior.

I ordered Cappuccino (RM10.50) and 1 chocolate roll (RM3.90).

They have 3 different sizes for their coffee, tall, grande, and alto.

Lets talk about their coffee. When i go and collect it, oh my god. So much coffee foam. Just too much. I only snap a photo when i get rid all the foam. And where is the coffee art?

For the price, i think its STILL REASONABLE even though its slightly higher than the rest. But the amount is more as well.

Environment wise, i don’t think its a good place for you to chill and enjoy. Its somewhat opened to the public, and worse is i have seen flies flying around..Maigod. Mood killer!

Talk about their service, they only have 1 staff working there. When i ordered my coffee, the staff started to make my coffee. When i decided to add another chocolate roll, he just nod his head and continue his coffee. I was there waiting to pay him money but he just ignore me..Nope, not friendly at all..And another thing, it’s self service.

Apple 10th September Event Roundup

As you guys know, Apple just had their announcement on 11th September, 1 am (GMT +8). So i’m going to do a roundup here and my thoughts as well.

Everyone’s been expecting what Apple can do with the iPhone 5c and 5s..Cheaper? More colorful? Or?

Before the event started, Apple store is down. Something new must be coming up.

First of all, they just recap of the new features on iOS7 that has been announced 3 months back during WWDC2013.  New inline web search, notification center, new techno ringtones, new sorting features on photo library, iWork and of course the brand new UI design as well.

iOS7 will be officially released on 18th September.

Then its iPhone 5c time!

It will be available in 5 colors – Green, White, Blue, Red and Yellow.

So whats all about iPhone 5c?

4-inch retina display, A6 processor, 8MP iSight camera, Lowlight Facetime HD camera.

Basically I don’t think much changes in 5c compared to iPhone 5 and the price is somehow quite high for me though. It’s just slightly cheaper than 5s.

They also released their own silicon casing. Wow. Damn colorful huh?

For me the casing is a little too much..and i don think its nice with all the holes with all the texts at the back being “cropped” partially. The casings are available in 6 colors as well.

LEARN MORE ABOUT iPHONE 5c HERE.

Then it’s iPhone 5s time!

Available in 3 colors – Black, Silver and Gold. Well at least that looks slightly more decent to be an Apple products right?

So its different from 5c as its processed by an A7 chip, a 64 bit chip..And it runs so much faster compared to the original iPhone.

They also have a M7 chip that runs along with the A7, It’s a motion co-processor. It able to detect the motion continuously! I guess it helps a lot in health&fitness apps.

They also have a slightly improved battery life..10 hours 3G talk time, 250 hours standby, 10 hours LTE browsing, 40 hours music playback.

Besides, they improved their camera as well. Now with the lens with f/2.2 aperture (iPhone 5 is on f/2.4) , 15 percent larger active sensor area. They also have a new camera flash “True Tone“. It actually solves the problem of clashing color temperatures. So with the new flash, our skin tones will look much natural compared to before.

The camera now also have burst mode features. You can take photos continuously at 10 frames/second speed as long you are holding down your shutter button. Then it will help you to pick the best shot and delete the rest, but of course you can keep all of them if you want. I think this is really helpful especially when you taking photos of kids or during some sports events.

Other than that, the new camera has image stabilization feature.

Now you also can shoot slow-mo video at HD. A video with 120 fps at 720p!

After you have shoot a video at normal fps rate, you can choose the part that you wish to slow-mo it. Cool isn’t it?

Ok, for those who actually don’t put passcode on your phone because afraid of the trouble, it solves your problem now. Supposingly, everyone SHOULD have a passcode on your phone to protect your privacy.

If hassle is the factor that stops you from getting a passcode, now with TOUCH ID, you can unlock your phone with your fingerprint. Just put your thumb on the home button and it will start scanning, not even need to press it.

Other than unlocking your phone, you can also purchased apps, musics with your fingerprint.  No longer need to verify yourself using all the id and passwords.

LEARN MORE ABOUT iPHONE 5s HERE.

iPhone 5c and 5s pre-order will be made available on 13rd September and in stores on 20th September.

9 countries that can get it first on hand: US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and UK!

Mostly it will be available in 100 countries by Dec 2013, .

So i guess that’s a round up for the announcement on 10th September. For me i think it’s still a change even though it’s not that much. Everyone’s been saying Apple no longer innovates, but i don’t agree with this statement somehow. At least a few months later, they create another new phones to cater to other generations, besides they’re also able to make some improvements such as the camera, flash and inject new features like burst mode, slow-mo etc.

And now with the fingerprint sensor which i think its really cool though!

That is why I prefer to say Apple is still moving forward, not a big step, but at least they are still moving. and i really appreciate to the whole team that non stop bringing us new iOS device, new technology, and improved features.

Well its a really big competition in the market now. Everyone has their own favourite, but for me, i would still prefer iOS devices.

What do you think with the 5s and 5c? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below =)

Coffea Coffee @ SS15

Been hearing about this place recently..with their Peanut Butter Latte. Yeap! Peanut butter..I’m a peanut butter lover and i get freaking excited for this lol.

Decided went with my another coffee lover friend, Zac. I even get treat from him lol.

Yes its located at Subang SS15! They have another branch in Bangsar though.

In Subang SS15, its just located at one of the shop lots facing directly to Neway Karaoke..Super easy to find.

The interior.

So we ordered two peanut butter latte. (RM12/each)

I love this! A normal latte that is more milky and don’t have too much coffee smell in it..Well the peanut butter taste is not that strong as what i expect. Will try to ask if we can ask for more amount next time haha..But still i think its very nice! Really worth for the try.

They are really good in their coffee art also. I heard you can request coffee art from them..Like panda, lion, butterfly etc. Next time i shall order a cappuccino and request something nice! hahhaa..

JUST ENJOY. Their slogan lol
Environment wise, there’re downstairs and upstairs to be seated. I kinda love their wooden interior look.
If you are a smoker, no worries. Upstairs there’s a section for you too. They don’t discriminate! =)
But one thing is that i feel it’s a bit noisy. Lol, all the customers are talking too loud. It will be perfect if the place can be slightly more peaceful so we can enjoy the coffee better. loll
Yup, overall i think its a really good place..Definitely going to pay my second visit there soon.

Movie Review : Elysium

In 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a luxurious space stationcalled Elysium, and the poor, who live on an overpopulated, devastated Earth. While residents on Earth are policed by ruthless androids, Elysian citizens live in comfort and safety, surrounded by robotic servants and regularly use man-sized medical devices in their homes that keep them free from disease (so called Med-Pods).

Max Da Costa (Matt Damon), a former car thief and parolee, lives in the ruins of Los Angeles and works on the assembly line in one of the robotics factories of Armadyne Corp., the company that provides the space habitat, robots, and most of Elysium’s weapons. Max grew up as an orphan and has spent much of his life in prison. After an altercation with a robot officer results in a broken arm, he reconnects with a childhood friend, Frey (Alice Braga), who works as a nurse in the rundown County Hospital. Frey’s daughter Matilda is dying ofleukemia.

When a caravan of illegal immigrants from Earth attempts to reach the space station, ElysianSecretary of Defense Jessica Delacourt (Jodie Foster) activates vicious mercenary Kruger (Sharlto Copley), who works on Earth as a sleeper agent, and orders him to shoot down the shuttles in a covert mission. Disapproving of her methods, Elysian President Patel (Faran Tahir) reprimands her, and Kruger is fired. Delacourt, vowing to protect Elysium and her own power, convinces Armadyne’s billionaire CEO John Carlyle (William Fichtner) to write a program that can override Elysium’s central computer and make her President. In return, she offers to guarantee renewal of Armadyne’s defense contracts for the next two hundred years. Carlyle agrees to the coup, and after creating the program in his office on Earth, he encrypts it and uploads it to his brain for safekeeping until his return to Elysium.

After an accident at the plant exposes Max to a lethal dose of radiation, Carlyle has Max fired, and Max is sent home with a bottle of painkillers, having only five days to live. Knowing his only chance for survival is a Med-Pod, Max seeks help from notorious smuggler and hacker Spider (Wagner Moura), who organizes the illegal caravans to Elysium. Spider agrees to get Max to Elysium, if in exchange, Max helps him steal valuable financial information from an Elysium citizen. Max agrees, after stipulating that Carlyle is to be the mark. Spider arranges for Max to receive weapons and several medical implants, including a fake Elysium ID needed to use the Med-Pods, a primitive powered exoskeleton that increases his strength to rival the android sentinels, and a cerebral data uplink which will allow Max to transfer information from Carlyle’s mind to his own. With help from a team including his friend Julio (Diego Luna), Max intercepts Carlyle’s spaceship, disables his bodyguards and steals his data (including the program), uploading it to his own brain. The team, however, finds the data scrambled by Carlyle’s security measures and cannot transmit it to Spider.

Delacourt secretly deploys Kruger and his men to rescue Carlyle and recover the program. In the ensuing firefight, Carlyle is mortally wounded, Spider’s men are gunned down and Julio sacrifices himself fighting Kruger so Max can escape. Max is stabbed before getting away, and seeks Frey for help treating his wound. She asks him to help smuggle Matilda into Elysium so she can be cured of her leukemia, but he refuses, believing it to be a suicide mission. Meanwhile, Delacourt locks down Los Angeles airspace and sends Kruger’s team on a manhunt demanding Max be captured with his brain undamaged, as it now holds the only viable copy of the program. Max returns to Spider to extract the information from his head, and they discover Carlyle’s program. They realize that during the reboot it performs, they could change any data they wanted, including making all of Earth’s residents legal citizens of Elysium. However, the lockdown prevents Spider from launching a ship for Max until his men can crack the jamming signal, by which time Max will be dead.

Max instead bargains with Kruger to be taken to Elysium in exchange for the program (threatening suicide by a live grenade next to his head). Kruger, who unbeknownst to Max has captured Frey and Matilda as hostages, agrees. With the lockdown lifted so Kruger’s ship can leave Earth, Spider hastily gathers a team and also heads for Elysium. As Kruger’s ship is approaching the station, his men attempt to disarm Max of the grenade, and it ultimately detonates, severely mutilating Kruger’s face and disabling the shuttle which crash-lands into Elysium. Delacourt seizes the opportunity to declare a state of emergency and relieves President Patel of his duties.

Max, Frey and Matilda are captured from the wreckage and handed over to Delacourt. Carlyle’s security measures for the program are discovered, and it becomes clear that extracting the program from Max’ mind will kill him. Delacourt is unfazed by this and orders her men to proceed. Meanwhile, Kruger’s men put their badly-disfigured boss in a Med-Pod in the armory nearby, and his face is reconstructed. The team is chastised by Delacourt for letting the situation get out of hand, but the mentally-unhinged Kruger now has his own plan; he wants the program for himself, to become President and make Elysium his private playground. He stabs Delacourt in the neck and leaves her with Frey and a comatose Matilda. Despite Frey’s best efforts, Delacourt refuses her help and dies. Max escapes from the data extraction team, and rescues Frey and Matilda, sending them to the surface of Elysium to find a Med-Pod.

Realizing that the Med-Pod will not work on the now-comatose Matilda as she is not a citizen of Elysium, and also knowing that between his radiation sickness and the program in his brain, he is a dead man walking, Max resolves to use Carlyle’s program to make everyone a citizen. He meets with Spider and his men, who landed safely on Elysium during the chaos, and takes the last of his painkillers in an overdose for an edge against Kruger’s team. Kruger meanwhile bolts on a more advanced, military grade exoskeleton and rampages through Elysium’s central command looking for Max, while his men assassinate most of Elysium’s leaders. As Max and Spider reach the main control hub, they are ambushed by Kruger, who fights to disable Max’s exoskeleton and render him powerless. Max finally turns the tables, disconnecting Kruger’s exoskeleton. Desperately, Kruger attempts to kill Max in a murder–suicide using a grenade, but Max breaks free and throws Kruger over a ledge. The grenade detonates, killing Kruger.

Spider and Max lock themselves in Elysium’s main datacenter and prepare the reboot as Patel leads a group to detain them. Max radios Frey to say goodbye, reminding her of a promise he made when they were children, that he would get them up to Elysium someday. After Spider configures the data changes, Max activates the program, killing himself. The computer core is rebooted with Spider’s modifications, registering every Earth resident as a citizen of Elysium. Matilda is now recognized and cured by the Med-Pod Frey was able to find, and Patel, upon breaking into the core, finds himself powerless to stop Spider, as the android sentinels now recognize him as a citizen and refuse to arrest him. As a massive number of new citizens on Earth are now recognized by Elysium’s main computer as being in need of medical treatment, fleets of emergency medical spacecraft equipped with Med-Pods and medical droids are dispatched to Earth and begin their work.

The next sci-fi movie after Pacific Rim. Ok, while watching i keep having the OMG expression. I simply love Elysium planet. Wow, the robot, their technology, environment etc. just wow, so futuristic. So many futuristic environments in the past few sci-fi movies, i love this the most.

I’m loving the cast as well, the antagonist and protagonist..

Beautiful vfx too! I totally love how they create the Earth environment. Brings up two major difference between Earth and Elysium..And i’m liking how daring and crazy their technology can go in Elysium.

Story wise i think its kinda new too..Reflecting on the reality in the world now between the rich and poor. And i kinda like the overall flow of the story include the ending. *ok no spoiler lol*

Overall i think its really good!

ENDS.

You know..I cant believe..Just cant believe im officially graduated from The One Academy. Been blogging so much and this time i’m really leaving..I have too much thing to say..So i wont upload any photo here..Everything is in my phone<3 This post just serve as a memory for me to recap everything.

Seriously i know im going to miss all my friends so so so so so so damn damn much!!!! I cant believe how am i going to survive without them with me all this while..

I joined MM major 2 years ago and started to know a few classmates. Then more than 10 defer, quit toa..Then our class is getting smaller and smaller..When it comes to year 3, slowly some new classmates joined us. And they are the awesome one that stay with us until now. We met almost everyday, having fun together, crazy together. When it comes to the exhibition period, there’s always some minor arguements or disagreement, but that doesn’t affect our friendship. What i like my class is we don see fake person..When we are happy, we show it, when we are not happy, we tell it. Everything is straightforward. And you don see backstabbers. I guess thats the good thing for being a small class. This exhibition wouldn’t be a success without any single of us, no matter you are from design team, logistic team or even marketing team.

I remember in the past 2 sems, we started to do some preparation for our graduation exhibition..We are small, but we also know there’re some lecturers that kept complaining our class. That is why we all having the same aim, which is to prove that we are still able to finish everything off in a unique way and also let everyone remember us.

Of course because of this exhibition, our relationship getting closer. Every meeting every week, we slowly to see progress..From an empty idea, we slowly build SOARHIGH1008 up. Until everything is finished completely..We have our own cookies, cupcakes, badges, books, posters, invitation cards, tshirts, polo tee, accessories stickers, lanyards etc. Slowly we spread this name out within the college..I guess that’s a really good start for us. Also within this one sem, we slowly brainstorm our photography ideas and do all the shooting in the studio.. Yes i miss it. =”) Then we also overnight in college to set up our chair installation. Sounds simple but yet so much task to do, but happy to see around 10 of us who willing to stay up until midnight to finish everything off..Outcome is nice as well..All this working process are tired but somehow its so memorable that seeing us actually really working together to make this happen and of course graduate gracefully.

A few days before the exhibition, we set up the whole exhibition place. From a dull and boring place, we turn it into a place that is so beautiful. That 3 days of set up is so so so tiring. From morning till night doing work non stop. But also seeing the process we made everyday is also a big satisfaction. I really love our opening show, for us its so good haha. There’s also so much laughter when we doing our rehearsal..Don’t mind working so hard for something awesome too.=)

When the exhibition ends, my heart feel heavy because that marks the end of our journey in TOA. Pulling down all the cloth that we have cut, hang on it, dismantling all the computers, cleaning all the mess, they’re all our effort and sweat. Now the place has back to the square one. =”(

Our life has turned to another level. Even though we might still have chance to gather and crazy around in future, but we have to know that we are no longer seeing each other again on the next day as we are no longer student come from the same class. Not forgetting some are furthering their studies in overseas. Sighhhh

During the 3 months of exhibition preparation, there’s always some disagreements but we don’t quarrel. We speak out our mind and there’s always a decision that everyone is happy with..And also we have set some strict rules, we know this might make a few people unhappy that they ket being fined, but im stucked between friendship and graduation. So i sill choose over graduation, because i know this is our aim and everyone is matured enough to know that we should put friendship aside when we are doing our stuffs for this graduation..

Of course other than missing my friends, i actually miss the college labs. Each labs has so much memories, as we have spent 3 years studying there. The place that make each of us grown so much..Other than that, i guess me and my buddies also overnight for more than 100 times. Staying overnight in lab is somehow fun, doing work while having fun at the same time..Yet we feel doing work in lab is even more productive. Whenever we overnight, 11pm is the time we went down to have our supper before we are locked in the college at 12am. Chilled for a short while before we fight for our assignment. Always went back at 6am+ when we see the sky is getting brighter. When everyone started to go off to work, only we going back to sleep..

Food..Well nothing much though. Always having the same problem after a class dismiss..”WHAT TO EAT?” lol..But somehow sometimes me and buds will went out from Sunway to explore some nice food lol..Not to forget exploring some nice place to drink. A few of us always come out with a last minute plan to go out have a drink until late night until we are sick of that particular place.

PJS9 is also like the second house for me lol..Parked my car there EVERYDAY and it helps me to save up thousands and thousands of parking fee. Even though i have to walk a distance, but i think its nice to walk in a quiet early morning..Soon, walking from PJS9 to college is already a habit. Same goes for Pyramid. Went Pyramid for more than 3 times a week. Window shopping, chilling, dining or even watching movies. A place that going to stucked in my mind.

The most important part. Seeing how much i have grown. Thank you The One Academy. Thank you for training me for this 3 years. From a dream in secondary school until i have finally learning what i like. I still remember i cant draw, cant design before i enter TOA. But i always have a dream to be able to become a person that surviving in art industry. Slowly i learnt drawing and designing in my foundation years. That time, im still so struggling with my design sense. I’m just a student who get C/ D in design subject. I feel like im not going to improve and wanted to give up. But thinking of the aim and the reason why i enter TOA, i know i must hang on. In year 2, when i get into Multimedia, finally im doing what i like.  Slowly, i see myslf improve so much in designing..Learning so much softwares and knowledges and getting so much satisfaction after every sems ends..Even my grades from C to B..and to some subjects getting A..Year 2 sem 3, got invited for sharing session to juniors and seniors..Not showing off my skill, but more to like telling them my story, hoping them to get a lil bit inspired as well..and some works are being showcased in college too. Its nothing for some of u, but for me its something meaningful to motivate me. Until year 3, i get all As for my subjects. with some B+..*not showing off*.. I’m truly truly happy to see how much im able to grow. Yes im still growing! =)

From someone who only dreaming but know nothing about art, until the current me, who knows how to create a presentable design, do 3d modeling, motion graphics, photography, videography, front-end programming, web design etc. I feel thankful..and grateful for having such great family that supported me in term of financial or mentally support all the time..Learning too many things and softwares is really a challenging stuffs, because end up u have to find ur own things to specialise in.

Hmm talking about friends, they are the one that make me don feel my life is empty. It’s always that nice to hangout with them every single seconds from chatting, drinking, watching movies, singing k, shopping, or even doing assignment etc. We seem like having endless topic to talk about too..I remember in year 1 sem 3, my life has changed. In year 2 sem 1, my life has dropped to a whole new level. I couldn’t describe how my life was at that time. I even had a mindset to end my life because i feel i have lost everything. But of course i did not. *im not that dumb though* It took me like almost a year to let go everything. I’m a person that afraid of lonely, that is why friends played a really important part in my life..Whenever during sem break, i almost feel my life is empty without friends and assignments. So somehow i still appreciate my college life hehhe..

Experienced and go through so much of things because so many “first-time” happened during this 3 years. How can i forget it right? A period that make me grown so much so much..And now im trying to adapt myself to a new lifestyle..And soon, working officially.

Goodbye SOARHIGH1008, I will miss u..and also every classmates. Hoping for a day a few of us can gather once again! ❤ I will remember this forever =”) My brain, Instagram, blogs, phones have all our traces hehe.

Epiphany Coffee & Tobacco @ Oasis Square

A newly opened shop that provides various types of coffee, pastries and even tobaccos.

But no worries, even if you don’t smoke, you are still welcome to that place.

They have air-conditioned non smoking and smoking area.

The interior..Not bad though. Nice environment with some paintings on wall and nice musics lol. They also have sofa set for you. Besides, wifi is provided and there’re also two rows of books for you to read if you wan.

I think its a nice place for chilling with friends.

Hot cappuccino (RM10)

With the chocolate roll pastry (RM4)

But i would like to highlight the service. Very good-mannered and friendly staff since the moment i stepped in =) I guess that’s something important in order to leave a good impression for customers.

They also provided me a free glass of water. Even though its just a glass of water, but how many cafe/ restaurants would ever do that..It’s not the price that matter, but more to like how caring they are.

No harm giving it a try. 🙂

Sao Paulo Coffee @ Citta Mall

Visited to Sao Paulo Coffee @ Citta Mall weeks ago..

I guess they only have this one franchise here if im not wrong bcoz i have not heard of this name at other places before.

Hot latte (RM9.50)

Talk about coffee, somehow i’m not really satisfied. Not sure whats wrong but there’s just something that is lacking of. For environment wise, i guess thats the biggest problem. Definitely they have a nice interior design, but the moment i sat down, few flies kept flying around my table until i have to switch table *obviously the table is not clean enough*

Secondly, i feel its kind of warm inside. Whole cafe is air-conditioned but i just feel its warm and not comfy enough. And the table they used is way too low, not a good place for you to chill with your laptop or books..

So i guess i still have to consider to revisit to that place again.

myBurgerLab @ Seapark

You know..When you are staying in PJ, how can you dont know about BurgerLab right?! Been to quite a few famous burger shops around Subang, so wanted to give myself a try for this most famous burger =)

So we decided to go there for dinner today.

The shop opened at 5pm and believe it onot. There’re people queuing before the shop opens. So we think its better to go there slightly later, like almost 7pm.

Its located at Seapark SS2..When we reached, homaigosh. The queue is super long until the next few shops and inside the shop is cramped with people. We actually waited for more than 30 mins to order.

This is what i ordered. Its called “SayCheese Chicken”..Comes in a set with fries and refillable drinks..Of course all the burgers they provided can choose either beef or chicken. (RM17)

*They also told me they have some secret menu that is not listed in the menu board..Its something like “Elvis burger” or what..Forgotten lol…Just ask them for the secret menu burgers if you want to order*

So how is their burger actually? I think its really nice with the very juicy and thick chicken. And the bread, its very soft and nice to eat because usually sometimes the burgers we eat out there is either the chicken is too hard, bread is too dry etc. But in here, everything is really nicely made! Plus eating with the cheese, homaigosh. Juicy level +1

But just after this one burger, we all feel so damn full! But of course very satisfying=)

*credit to myBurgerLab facebook*

The interior of the shop.

The queue before the shop opens.

After we finish eating, we leave immediately as there’re still a long queue that need a seat.

So if you are there next time, be more considerate and give out ur place to the others once u finish eating haha..

If you are in PJ and still havent been here before, GIVE IT A TRY!!!

Find them on Facebook, or their website, or even their instagram, or their Twitter lol

The Conjuring Movie Review

In 1971, Carolyn and Roger Perron move into a dilapidated, old farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island with their five daughters. During the first day, the family moves in smoothly, though the dog refuses to come into the house and one of the daughters finds a boarded up entrance to a cellar.

The next morning, Carolyn wakes up with a mysterious bruise and the dog is found dead. Over the next several days, various paranormal activities occur. The activity culminates one night while Roger is away in Florida, as Carolyn is locked in the cellar while a spirit that looks like an elderly woman attacks one of her daughters.

Carolyn contacts noted paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren for help. The Warrens conduct an initial investigation and conclude that the house may require anexorcism, though this cannot be done without further evidence and authorization from the Catholic Church.

While researching the house’s history, Ed and Lorraine discover that the house once belonged to an accused witch, Bathsheba, who tried to sacrifice her children to the devil and killed herself after cursing all who would take her land. They also find reports of numerous murders and suicides in houses that have since been built upon the property.

Ed and Lorraine return to the house in an attempt to gather evidence to receive authorization for an exorcism. That night, one of the daughters sleepwalks into her sister’s room and reveals a secret passage behind a wardrobe. Lorraine enters the passage and falls through the floorboards into the cellar, where she sees the spirits of people whom Bathsheba has possessed. All are mothers whom Bathsheba used to kill their children.

Lorraine and Ed take their evidence to the Church to organize an exorcism while the Perron family takes refuge at a hotel. A possessed Carolyn takes two of her daughters, Christine and April, and drives back to the house. Ed and Lorraine rush to the house where they find Carolyn trying to stab Christine. After subduing Carolyn, Ed decides to perform the exorcism himself, though Carolyn escapes and again attempts to kill her other daughter, April. Lorraine is able to stop the possessed Carolyn from killing her daughter by reminding her of a special memory she shared with her family, allowing Ed to complete the exorcism, saving Carolyn and her daughter.

Trailer:

Finally after sooo many reviews for this movie, I HAVE WATCHED IT! haha..Plus the super high rating at IMDB (its hard to get a high rating in IMDB lol.) and the top it box office already hit more than 100million!

Ok seriously i like how the overall movie manage to tie the audiences mind and heart throughout the movie..Everyone is like being struggled to get frightened anytime. Even a door open sound can make ppl scream lol.

Story is normal, kinda similar to all the recent horror movies. But i love how its still able to make people hook on it. =)

Also love some of the impacts created to scare the shit outta us lol..But for me, the horror level can be exegerrate even more! Very nice mood created too for some scenes.

James Wan, the director totally nail it well! Good job!

R.I.P.D Movie Review

Boston Police Department Detectives Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds) and Bobby Hayes (Kevin Bacon) steal a chest full of gold found during a drug bust, and Nick buries his share of the gold in his backyard, intending to use it to create a better life for himself and his wife, Julia (Stephanie Szostak). However, he regrets his decision and informs Hayes he intends to return the gold. Later, during a raid on a warehouse, Nick and Hayes get into a shootout with criminals, and Hayes kills Nick to prevent him from returning the gold, framing one of the criminals for the murder.

Nick awakens in the office of Mildred Proctor (Mary-Louise Parker), director of the Rest In Peace Department (R.I.P.D.), an agency that recruits deceased police officers to patrol the afterlife and capture “Deados”, spirits that refuse to cross over and return to Earth as monstrous ghosts. Nick agrees to join the R.I.P.D. after Proctor promises to help him reunite with Julia and meets his new partner, Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges), an ex-U.S. Marshal who lived in the 1800’s.

Nick and Roy return to Earth to attend Nick’s funeral, where Nick learns R.I.P.D. officers are assigned avatars, which is how humans perceive them. Nick’s is an elderly Chinese man, Jerry Chen (J. Hong) and Roy’s is an attractive Russian woman, Opal Pavlenko (Marisa Miller ). After failing to communicate with Julia, Nick accompanies Roy to the apartment of a suspect, Stanley Nawlicki (Robert Knepper), who tries to escape and is killed by the duo. Pieces of gold identical to the ones Nick stole are found in Nawlicki’s possessions and sent to Eternal Affairs for analysis.

Nick and Roy then meet with Elliot (Mike O’Malley), a dealer set to make an exchange with someone, revealed to be Hayes. Nick and Roy follow him to Nick’s house, where Hayes retrieves Nick’s share of the gold, leading Julia to believe Nick was corrupt. From there, the duo tails Hayes to an abandoned warehouse where he gives the gold to a Deado, Pulaski (Devin Ratray), who escapes due to Nick and Roy’s intervention. Proctor, infuriated, takes them off the case, but they decide to continue the investigation on their own after learning the pieces of golds are components of the Staff of Jericho, a mystic device that could reverse the tunnel that transports the dead into the afterlife, returning them to Boston.

Nick and Roy visit Hayes, who quickly finds out who they are and reveals himself to be a Deado. He is arrested and brought to RIPD’s headquarters, where he and other Deados manage to escape after stealing the components of the Staff of Jericho and return to Earth. While the Deados assemble the Staff of Jericho, Hayes kidnaps Julia to use her as a human sacrifice to open the portal. Nick and Roy arrive and after killing the Deados, including Pulaski, Nick goes to save Julia while Roy destroys the Staff of Jericho and saves the city. Although Nick manages to kill Hayes, Julia succumbs to her wounds and dies in his arms before Proctor arrives and informs Nick that he has earned redemption and Julia has been awarded a second chance.

Julia is revived in the hospital and begins recovery, and Proctor reinstates Nick and Roy into the agency, in addition to providing Nick with a new avatar, which is soon revealed to be a 10-year-old girl scout (Piper Mackenzie Harris), much to Nick’s disappointment. Nick and Roy then get into Nick’s car and drive away.

Trailer:

Well I would say this is just a normal movie. Nothing really fancy you..A normal storyline with a not-so-exciting climax. =)

In some part of the movie, it involves some vfx part that tells the city destruction. But I can even spot some mistakes in the vfx and also it doesnt look that realistic. Afterall this movie’s selling point is not the vfx=)

What i like is just some parts of the laughter that u can get in the cinema. JUST SOME. lol

Nothing much to comment seriously.
